NY Giant’s Star and Actress to Appear at Oktoberfest in Mountain Lakes in October

Roots & Wings announced today that NY Giant’s football star fullback Jim Finn and his wife, supermodel and actress Rosa Blasi, will be honored guests at the charity’s Oktoberfest Gala fundraising event to be held on Friday, October 27, 2006 at The Villa of Mountain Lakes. The event will raise money to aid children who have aged out of the foster care system. Other top celebrities and sports figures have been invited and are also expected to attend.

The Oktoberfest will feature a celebrity lounge where the public can meet the celebrities and get autographs and photos. There will also be silent and live auctions, entertainment, a pretzel stand, a cigar garden and much more. The Gala will feature beers from various local breweries. Celebrity hour tickets cost $50 per person, Oktoberfest tickets cost $125 per person. Attire is smart casual.

Last year Finn teamed with Tiki Barber to give the NFL Giants a potent backfield. He is expected to help lead the team into the playoffs this year. Ms. Blasi currently stars in the Lifetime original series, “Strong Medicine,“ in which she plays Dr. Luisa Delgado. She has also appeared in the television series: “Caroline in the City”, “Becker”, “Frasier,” and “CSI:Miami.”

Roots & Wings Foundation, a private, not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 with a mission to assist abused and neglected youth in Morris County, New Jersey who have aged out of the child welfare system in their transition from dependency to self-sufficiency. After clients are accepted into the program, individual six-month plans are put in place that address education, employment, financial planning, counseling, and life skills training. The Foundation’s history has shown that constant attention to these individualized plans gives their clients the tools they need to become self-sufficient adults.
